Librarian by early day, scholar by late day, ardent reader by nights.

At the Booktower aka the Ghent University Library in Belgium, I work as a librarian and cataloguer. Apart from books, I am specialized and trained in cataloging manuscripts, incunabula, and rare materials stored in the Booktower. I am responsible for the maintenance and quality of the Ghent University Aleph catalog, as well as for the management and the import of metadata in digitization projects. I also train and guide new and temporary cataloguers.

Beside my day job in the library, I am an independent scholar specializing in Old Norse–Icelandic literature and manuscripts. Since September 2009, I have been working on my PhD-project “Auðr/Unnr djúp(a)uðga Ketilsdóttir: Tracing the life and legacy of a female legend through texts.”

Since 2009, I am a member of the Viking Society for Northern Research, the Einhard – Research institute for medieval studies, the VOG – Vereniging van Oudgermanisten, as well as a member of and the Belgian delegate of the International Advisory Board for Saga Conference.

In the little spare time I have left, you can find me curled up on the sofa with a good book.
